For the registration in American school, you must necessarily translate your child’s school report. Each bulletin must be reproduced in its format, identical but in English. The translation must be certified by a sworn person.

1/ For students entering elementary and middle school:
– It is recommended that at least the last 2 years’ bulletins be provided.
– Special case of entry into 4th: all ballots must be provided from 6th.
Why a translation? To provide information on the student’s past schooling

2/ For students entering high school
– Parents/guardians are asked to provide at least the 5th and 4th grade report cards and all school reports.
Why a translation? To acquire the credits necessary for graduation.

3/ Remarks
For military families: we advise you upon your arrival, to provide the NATO legal advisor office with your translations and originals, for a quick validation. VBCPS (Virginia Beach City Public Schools) is committed to accepting certified translations from the NATO legal advisor.
For other families or if you need help: you can have the translations done by an agency approved by VBCPS.
