FASN is a unique, structure of education which offers schooling to students from K to 12th grades in 4 host American schools:
-Crossroads Elementary and Middle School (K-8), Norfolk
-Great Neck Middle School (K8), Virginia Beach
-Granby High School (9-12), Norfolk
-Cox High School (9-12), Virginia Beach
By offering a bilingual education to K-12th students, the FASN provides students the opportunity to benefit from French and American education, the best of two different and complementary worlds.
Families have the opportunity to get involved in the life of the structure by participating in activities that strengthen ties with its partners.
The EFAN was requested by the French Etat-Major des Armées (EMA) to offer the possibility of a bilingual education in close partnership with the Mission Laïque Française (MLF) renowned for successfully managing French schools abroad (more than 55,000 students in 41 countries), and Norfolk Public schools (NPS).
Certified teachers of French Ministry of Education, the educational team follow French national curriculum, in direct teaching from K to 5th grades. From 6th to 12th grade students of Centre National d’Enseignement à Distance (CNED), a French National correspondence courses organization with the support of certified teachers in French, History, Geography, Math, Physics and Chemistry. The gradual integration of new technologies allows students, under teachers’ guidance, to get familiar and master the most updated techniques of learning.
Last, but not least, the FASN teaching team works closely with American Principals and faculty to harmonize the French and American curricula.
