Board of Directors
The French-American School of Norfolk (FASN) is a non-profit association governed by a Board of Directors.
It oversees financial management, recruits the director and ensures strategic coherence.
The Board is made up of 6 voting members:
- President
- Vice-President
- Treasurer ;
- Secretary
- the representative of the French national support element (ESN);
- the representative of the Mission laïque française (MLF)*
and 5 non-voting members for consultation purposes.
It meets monthly to discuss and vote on current issues. These may relate to the budget, expenditure, recruitment or the application and updating of regulations.
Role of the Mission Laïque Française*
The Mission laïque française, a state-operated association, is mandated to support the school’s pedagogical and academic operations, in consultation with the school’s Board of Directors and Headmaster. It acts to:
- recruit teachers ;
- offer ongoing pedagogical training tailored to the specific context of our school ;
- monitor the quality of the teaching provided during its regular visits.
